Sleeping Skeleton Canvas Print shows a gilded gold skeleton reclining on a bed draped in black satin, its skull resting on a pillow and one hand folded across the folds of fabric. Gold roses gather around the figure against a dark, ornate background, recalling a Victorian memento mori still life. Soft highlights pick out each gilded bone, petal and fold of satin against the darkness. The composition radiates moody elegance in black, antique gold, bronze, cream and umber tones, painted in a dark, dramatic Baroque still-life style.
